• Create strategic planning and oversight of all R&D activities including development of late-stage biologic asset in oncology program and early discovery platform to identify novel targets
• Build and manage R&D team of six research scientists and multiple external R&D consultants
• Manage external partners contracted for diverse R&D activities including CMC and IND-enabling preclinical studies
• Establish, build and lead strategic collaborations with academic and industry external partners to strengthen and validate internal drug discovery and development.
• Co-lead efforts for fundraising in U.S., Europe and Middle East (attendance and pitching at partnering meetings such as JPM and Bio International) and to establish pharma partnerships which resulted in acquisition of €8M in seed funding and research collaborations with two large pharma companies in the U.S.
• Prepare non-dilutive funding solicitations to U.S., European and Spanish funding agencies which resulted in awarding of over €1M
• Create and manage intellectual property portfolio from regional to national phase
• Support creation, maintenance, extensions and modifications of in-licensing and out-licensing contracts between company and external pharma and academic partners
• Also served as co-founder (June 2020-present), consultant for R&D programs (Sept 2020-Oct 2021) and board chairman (Jan 2022-Feb 2025)

Strategy and management of R&D programs in fibrosis and oncology, including support of diligence and successful out-licensing of oncology program

• Lead small R&D team of internal scientists and external service providers
• Lead R&D collaborations between academic and industry partners including a long-term merger-oriented collaboration with an international public, biotech company
• Scouting in-licensing opportunities to expand company portfolio. Support fundraising for seed and series A investment which resulted in acquisition of €3M in equity investment and 1€5M in non-dilutive funding in Europe and U.S.
• Oversee intellectual property portfolio from regional tot national phase
• Also served as board director (April 2021-Oct 2021)

• Led research projects in fields of aging, senescence and oncology in the laboratory of Dr. Manuel Serrano and published results in five top, peer-reviewed journals
• Awarded grant funding for research through Bank of Navarra and Spanish ministry of economy and competitivity
