Sarah O'Carroll

I have spent the last 9 years working across all Lower Primary year groups as a class teacher in Spain. In this gratifying role I have been responsible for the planning and delivery of all British curriculum subjects using an effective, challenging and engaging approach to learning while establishing positive relationships with colleagues and parents.

I am also the department co-ordinator which requires me to work closely alongside senior management, constantly striving to find and implement ways to develop the school. I take on a lead role in organising trips, shows and special theme weeks, harnessing good relationships with colleagues and children throughout the school.

• Classroom management, planning and assessment.
• Evaluating student progress regularly to meet individual needs.
• Guiding and supporting teaching assistants and special educational needs support staff.
• Participating in ongoing professional development, staying current with best practices in education and bringing fresh ideas to the classroom.
• Running extracurricular activities such as Cycle Training Club, Debating Club, Spanish Club and the school choir.
• Planning and delivering English intervention groups for lower ability children.
• Positively managing classroom behaviour.
• Ongoing liaising with parents along with regular formal report writing and parent meetings.

• Day to day classroom management, planning and assessing.
• Working closely with support staff to ensure the most effective methods are used to support pupils.
• Regularly communicating with parents, informally and formally, to strengthen the understanding of pupil needs and communicate targets.
• Weekly professional development meetings to ensure teaching is always progressive.
