Professional Development and Training:

  • Participate in ongoing training and workshops provided by the flower shop to enhance floral design skills, customer service techniques, and industry knowledge.
  • Stay updated on floral trends, seasonal flowers, and innovative design techniques through research, networking, and collaboration with industry professionals.

Order taking and customer service:

  • Greet customers warmly in person, over the phone, or via online platforms.
  • Assist customers in selecting floral arrangements, bouquets, and gift items based on their preferences, occasion, and budget.
  • Assist them if they want something super personalized. Since the main concept of the flower shop is "one of a kind," we would provide a very unique designs.
  • Accurately record and confirm orders, ensuring all details, including delivery date, time, and recipient information, are correct.
  • Print before hand the personalized letter the customer wants to send to other loved ones so when the time comes there is no work accumulation.

2. Floral Arrangement Preparation:

  • Work with the floral design team to prepare and assemble flower arrangements, bouquets, and gift baskets according to customer specifications and design standards.
  • Handle and care for flowers properly, ensuring they are fresh, hydrated, and stored at appropriate temperatures to maintain quality and longevity.

Packaging and presentation:

  • Carefully package floral arrangements, bouquets, and gifts in appropriate containers, vases, or wrapping materials to ensure safe and attractive presentation.
  • Attach personalized cards, messages, and care instructions as requested by customers, ensuring a personal touch and attention to detail.
  • We would work with Bloom Nation. The delivery system required an actual flower arrangement picture before delivery.
  • I would proceed to take that picture once it was done and upload it to Bloom Snap.

4. Delivery Coordination:

  • Organize and prioritize delivery routes to ensure timely and efficient delivery of orders to customers' locations.
  • Communicate with delivery drivers or partners to provide them with accurate order details, delivery instructions, and contact information for recipients.
  • Track and monitor delivery progress, confirming successful deliveries and addressing any issues or delays promptly to maintain customer satisfaction.
  • Throw Bloom Nation, we were also required to send a delivery picture of the arrangement in the doorway if the recipient is not in place of delivery of the moments.

Inventory Management and Stocking:

  • Monitor and maintain inventory levels of fresh flowers, floral supplies, and gift items to meet customer demand and seasonal trends.
  • Rotate stock, discard wilted or damaged flowers, and replenish supplies as needed to ensure a diverse and attractive selection of products for customers.

Marketing and Promotion:

  • Assist in promoting special offers, seasonal arrangements, and new products through social media, website updates, and in-store displays to attract and retain customers.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to create promotional materials, newsletters, and online content showcasing the shop's products and services.

Customer feedback and service improvement:

  • Collect and review customer feedback, reviews, and testimonials to identify areas for improvement and enhance the overall customer experience.

Working in a flower delivery shop requires a combination of artistic creativity, excellent customer service skills, organizational abilities, and attention to detail. It was a great learning experience, especially on Valentine's Day, which was such a hustle but so rewarding and pretty.

Menu Knowledge and Customer Service:

  • Familiarize yourself with the sushi menu, including various types of sushi rolls, sashimi, nigiri, and other Japanese dishes.
  • This specific Japanese restaurant had a really specific way of taking orders. It was like a board game format, I had to learn that, and with time, my knowledge of it got better.
  • Provide attentive and knowledgeable service to guests, explaining menu items, making recommendations, and answering questions about ingredients and preparation methods. There were over 80 plates on the menu, and they all had different components.

Greeting and Seating Guests:

  • Greet guests warmly as they arrive, escorting them to their tables, and presenting menus.
  • Assist guests in making menu selections, considering their preferences, dietary restrictions, and any special requests.
  • Considering that this is a formal restaurant, I had to always be well presented, with my hair always pulled back and a good poster.

3. Taking Orders and Inputting in the System:

  • Listen attentively to guests' orders, accurately recording selections, special requests, and modifications.
  • Input orders into the Point of Sale (POS) system promptly, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in processing.

Serving food and beverages:

  • Coordinate with the kitchen staff to ensure the timely preparation and delivery of sushi orders to guests.
  • Beverages have to be prepared by me and served by me since there is no barman.
  • Serve sushi rolls, sashimi, nigiri, and other dishes with precision and attention to presentation, using appropriate serving utensils and garnishes.

Recommending and Upselling:

  • Proactively recommend sushi specials, chef's recommendations, and beverage pairings to enhance the dining experience and increase sales.
  • Utilize suggestive selling techniques to upsell appetizers, desserts, and premium sushi selections to guests.

Handling Payments and Processing Transactions:

  • Present bills to guests, accurately total food and beverage charges, and process payments through the POS system.
  • Never pass the bill if the customer doesn't request it. Give them the time they need.
  • Handle cash, credit, and debit card transactions efficiently, providing guests with receipts and appropriate change as needed.

Clearing and Resetting Tables:

  • Clear empty plates, glasses, and utensils from tables promptly after guests finish their meals.
  • Reset tables with clean tableware, napkins, and condiments, ensuring a welcoming and organized dining environment for incoming guests.

Serving sushi as a waitress requires a combination of culinary knowledge, excellent customer service skills, and attention to detail. This was one of my favorite places I've worked; it was very organized, clean, and tried me really kindly.

Establishing Routine and Activities:

  • Follow the established routine provided by the parents for feeding, nap times, playtime, and bedtime to maintain consistency and familiarity for the twins.
  • Plan age-appropriate activities and games walks to the park games in the yard. Keep the twins engaged, stimulated, and entertained throughout the day.
  • I tried to keep them away from TV and electronic devices during the day.

Meal Preparation and Feeding:

  • Around 12 p.m.,I start preparing meals and snacks according to the parents' instructions, ensuring nutritional balance and dietary preferences are met.
  • Feed the twins in a safe and comfortable environment, maintaining proper hygiene and monitoring for any signs of choking or discomfort.
  • They would probably snack a bit until around 6 p.m, when I would start preparing dinner.

Diapering and Personal Care:

  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene to prevent rash and discomfort. Always making sure they know when they want to go to the bathroom and frequently asking them.
  • Assist the twins with personal care routines such as washing hands, brushing teeth, dressing and undressing, and taking showers as required.
  • Very important point. Never leave them alone in the shower/bathtub; always be there.

Communication with Parents:

  • Provide regular updates and communicate any significant developments, concerns, or questions to the parents throughout my babysitting period.
  • Seek guidance and clarification on any uncertainties or emergencies that may arise to ensure the twins' needs are met appropriately.

In conclusion, babysitting twins requires patience, organization, and a nurturing approach to provide personalized care and attention to each child's unique needs and preferences. Its a job that comes with a lot of responsibility and work, but it can be so fun and beautiful if you know how to manage it well.

  • Learn about the menu and wine list to better assist guests with selections according to what they are eating.

This was my first job in the restaurant industry. It is a seasonal restaurant, which means the work may be a little more intense since it is fully on season all the time. Being a waiter involves more than just serving food; it requires excellent customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Continuous learning and a positive attitude are key to success in the hospitality industry.
