Multi-lingual professional with strong communications and interpersonal skills looking to take on the challenge to grow and develop within the subtitling industry. Having worked in various sectors across different countries such as Belgium, United Kingdom, Slovakia and Spain made me gain valuable skills such as communication, active listening, problem solving and cultural awareness which I believe are essential attributes in order to work in the subtitling industry. My lifelong learning experiences coupled with my communication skills corroborate the fact that I am highly confident with languages with the intention of proving myself in the subtitling industry.
I have a demonstrated commitment for the safety and wellbeing of young people in residential care settings by protecting them from harm or damage within appropriate measures.
I provided a nurturing, caring and safe environment for children and young people and presented as a stable adult role model. I took part in assessment and care planning arrangements for young people in relation to considering their holistic needs and so ultimately to promote and maximise the ability of families to care for children in their own communities.
I actively maintained links with young persons home, family, school, immediate community and other agencies to provide the best care service possible to young people within the residential and community setting.
I mainly provided for young people's physical needs according to their individual needs and also provided support and comfort to young people in stressful situations.
I cared for, identified, developed, and reviewed the Resilience and Wellbeing of vulnerable children, with significant Social, Emotional, and Behavioural Needs. I provided a safe and secure environment to the children in a nurtured fashion.
I built trusting and meaningful relationships, including holding, exploring, and giving autonomy to owning intensive and often restrictive and fearful emotions, whilst seeking to allow opportunities to understand past trauma and how it affects the young person in the present. I also built relationships through regular communication with both Families and Multi-Disciplinary partners, such as social workers, education professionals and health professionals and updated them about the child's progress, health records and care plan. I engaged efficiently with young people and families form different social/ ethnical backgrounds in order to build positive relationships. Pat of my duties was to plan stimulating activities and opportunities according to both individual and group risk. I contributed actively and with reflective purpose to continuous risk assessment to protect young people from harm while building on resilience.
I produced reports relating to assessing resilience and reviewing care planning, and presented the findings of these in children's meetings and panels.
I worked with young people from a highly deprived area in order to help them building positive relationships with their peers and adult members of staff. I implemented informal education, through discussion with young people about their alcohol, gambling and sexual health issues during drop in evening sessions.
Though outreach youth work sessions I developed my communication skills with 'the hardest to reach' young people by meeting them in the streets. This enabled young people to know what services were on offer for them in order to get help and support within their community.
