My name is Pablo Méndez Alcolea, and I am a 20-year-old Civil Engineering student currently in my third year at HZ University of Applied Sciences in Middelburg, the Netherlands. I am seeking a 5 to 6-month internship opportunity as a junior civil engineer, ideally starting at the beginning of 2026 and continuing through June or July of the same year.
I was born in Spain and completed my secondary education at King’s College Alicante, a British international school, where I followed the UK curriculum. I graduated in 2023 with A-levels in Mathematics, Physics, German, and Spanish, following a strong academic record in IGCSEs, which included English Language and Literature, Chemistry, French, and others.
My academic training has given me a solid foundation in structural analysis, materials science, hydrology, and geotechnical engineering. I am proficient in industry-standard software such as AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D, Excel, and MATLAB, and I am comfortable working with technical documentation and design standards. I am currently improving my skills in project planning and construction management through coursework and applied projects.
Having worked part-time in customer service and educational roles, I have developed strong communication and teamwork skills, as well as a keen eye for detail and an ability to perform under pressure. I am a proactive and adaptable individual, capable of managing multiple responsibilities effectively and collaborating in diverse, multidisciplinary teams.
I am fluent in Spanish and English, and possess some knowledge of German and French, which enhances my ability to work in international contexts. I am passionate about sustainable infrastructure, eager to learn from experienced professionals, and highly motivated to contribute positively to real-world engineering projects during my internship.
