- Employed on a contract basis by BP global projects to work as the Electrical & Instrumentation Superintendent on the Greater Tortue Ahmeyim Hub both for the fabrication phase (Karimun, Indonesia) and the Hook up phase (Offshore, Dakar)

- Carry out daily site walks with Contractor to monitor progress and quality.

- Provide guidance to QC Inspection team for hazardous area equipment (ATEX) related issues.
- After the HUB hook up was successfully completed on time in April 2023, I moved to the GTA FPSO to oversee both the Hook-up and the re-inspection of 20,000 E&I Ex items (Hazardous area equipment).
- Develop Inspection plan and associated manning levels (30 Inspectors) to execute the Inspection of 20,000 Ex Inspections and associated repairs/re-inspections.
- Manage the execution and closure of 4000 E&I punch items.
- Ensure all E&I hook up and carryover Job cards were completed in line with the Level 4 plan.

- Employed on a contract basis by BP global projects to work as the Site based electrical engineer for the Clair Ridge development project, this role was a hybrid role that required a 50/50 split between the onsite project office and the construction site.
- Review and approve project design related documents.
- Conduct design model reviews (PDMS) and populate Punch lists associated with reviews
- Review and close out punch items with the Bp & HHI Construction Leads
- Population and close out of site engineering queries
- For the final 12 months of the construction phase in South Korea there was a requirement for me to act as the focal point for E&I related issues and liaise with the project office in London daily to ensure mechanical completion dates were achieved.
- Conduct daily progress meetings with the Bp E&I Construction Lead to discuss and resolve all E&I engineering / construction related issues.
- Review proposed engineering changes and verify the changes meet both IEC and project technical standards.
- Review manning levels and associated man-hours and detail justification for any increase of manpower requirements to the Engineering manager.
- Give guidance to QC Inspection team for hazardous area equipment (ATEX) related issues.
- My role changed in April 2016 after the platforms sailed to the UK when I was appointed as the offshore Hook up / Construction Engineer
- During the initial Hook up and commissioning phase of the project it was noted that site queries were causing a bottle neck and hampering progress due to the timescales involved in the onshore engineering team having to review and on many occasions requesting further information/surveys by the offshore hook up team prior to be able to respond.
- Act as a focal point for the execution of 1300+ Electrical and Instrumentation cable splices.
- Review and resolve any electrical related SQ raised by either Construction or Commissioning groups to ensure such queries would not hold up mechanical completion.
Lead Electrical Engineer (Site Construction)

- Contracted by ConocoPhillips as the Lead Electrical Engineer to work on the Jasmine Development to oversee the design and fabrication of 2 offshore platforms for the North Sea.
- Represent ConocoPhillips during FEED stage and detailed design
- Write, review, approve project specific Electrical specifications/procedures.
- Conduct daily progress meetings with the Engineering contractor Lead Electrical engineer to ensure design deliverables were on schedule and discuss and resolve engineering issues.
- Carry out manpower and budget forecast for Electrical Engineering and construction phases of the project and present to engineering manager.
- Overall supervision of 4 electrical engineers, 8 designers and technical personnel based in Cadiz during the construction stage. Construction lagged Engineering by 4 months therefore there was a requirement for a mid-size Engineering team based at site.
- Responsible for the verification of the Mott McDonald protection co-ordination design.
- Review and Endorse Electrical design and technical deliverables.
- Oversee FAT of all electrical equipment.
- Carry out authorisation assessments for Electrical technicians & Responsible Electrical Persons.
- Review and verify project specific Commissioning test procedures for all electrical equipment. Including Gas turbine, HV switchgear UPS and VFD drives.
- Review and where applicable authorise technical deviations.

- Supervision of field installation of HV ring main and associated LV distribution for well supplies. including 20 kv ring main, OHL line & switch rack installations.

- In February 2009 I joined the Onshore team in Qatar to work within the PMT to oversee the Construction/commissioning of the Utilities systems for 2 LNG Mega trains
- Support the Construction Manager to ensure timely completion against schedules and make recommendations to increase resources to improve performance Review and approve work packs and method statements.

- Contracted to B.P. Caspian (Azerbaijan) to oversee the construction, commissioning and hook up of the electrical systems on The Deep-Water Gunashli Platform.
- During the construction phase of the project my roles included, Tri & Bi party walk downs to ensure all equipment was suitable and built to the correct specification for zone, review commissioning test packs, review system handover packs and sign for client, write operating procedures, Witness FAT, write maintenance training plans and CMAS assessment plans for national technicians.
- During the hook up and commissioning phase of the project my role is to act as the Platform REP, this role required me to manage all electrical works on site including HV switching, Operation of 135Mw generation system, Commissioning and operation of Power Management system (Prismic), Commissioning of IS limiters and associated switchboards (11kv, 3.3Kv & 415v)
- During the operation stage my Duties were to oversee and give technical advice to National and Expat technicians to ensure the operation of the platform was not interrupted.
- This position also requires me to coach National Technicians to a standard that would allow them to operate and maintain the electrical systems competently
- This position was very rewarding as I was able to coach technicians who had little or no experience within the oil and gas industry and watch them develop to become competent and in some cases platform responsible electrical persons. This position also allowed me to develop my teaching skills and gain valuable experience in coaching technicians from a wide cultural background.
