During the initial Hook up and commissioning phase of the project it was noted that site queries were causing a bottle neck and hampering progress due to the timescales involved in the onshore engineering team having to review and on many occasions requesting further information/surveys by the offshore hook up team prior to be able to respond.
Act as a focal point for the execution of 1300+ Electrical and Instrumentation cable splices.
Review and resolve any electrical related SQ raised by either Construction or Commissioning groups to ensure such queries would not hold up mechanical completion.

During the construction phase of the project my roles included, Tri & Bi party walk downs to ensure all equipment was suitable and built to the correct specification for zone, review commissioning test packs, review system handover packs and sign for client, write operating procedures, Witness FAT, write maintenance training plans and CMAS assessment plans for national technicians.
During the hook up and commissioning phase of the project my role is to act as the Platform REP, this role required me to manage all electrical works on site including HV switching, Operation of 135Mw generation system, Commissioning and operation of Power Management system (Prismic), Commissioning of IS limiters and associated switchboards (11kv, 3.3Kv & 415v)
During the operation stage my Duties were to oversee and give technical advice to National and Expat technicians to ensure the operation of the platform was not interrupted.
This position also requires me to coach National Technicians to a standard that would allow them to operate and maintain the electrical systems competently
This position was very rewarding as I was able to coach technicians who had little or no experience within the oil and gas industry and watch them develop to become competent and in some cases platform responsible electrical persons.
