I would like to apply for a summer work, during June-August 2026. I am currently working as an English Language Assistant in Zamora, where I have helped students to improve their English language learning through speaking, listening, reading and writing. I really enjoy working with young people and developing lesson plans to suit their needs. I also enjoy the diversity of the role - teaching grammar one day and participating in a physical education class the next day.
Being part of a team and providing a quality language learning experience for students is important to me. I have a track record of hard work, honesty and a commitment to complete tasks to the best of my ability. I am confident, able to articulate myself as a native English speaker, create solutions and make a positive contribution to the overall team effort. I am happy doing physical or administrative work - whatever is needed to make the operation work!
I have a UK passport, UK driving licence, Spanish student visa until September 2026, criminal record checks recognised by the Spanish government and I have passed a recent medical assessment.
Collaborated with teachers, improving overall effectiveness of language instruction. Adapted lessons to accommodate varying proficiency levels amongst pupils. Implemented multimedia resources into lessons making them more interactive and fun. Developed a positive learning environment with effective classroom management strategies. Ensured inclusive learning atmosphere, catering to diverse needs of students.
I followed strict protocols for handling confidential exam materials. I managed a large group of students in the exam hall, ensuring a calm, quiet and safe environment during the exam. I monitored exam halls to ensure compliance with exam regulations.
For twenty five years, I worked as a logistics and project manager in operations all over the world. The work covered key areas of logistics - procurement, inventory, warehousing, fleet, IMPEX, systems and HR management. I was also the project lead for the implementation of new operations and systems for NHS Scotland, Lloyds Bank and Scottish & Newcastle. The work required project lifecyle management along PRINCE2 principles and stakeholder managment to ensure the implementations were completed on time, in full and within budget.
Teaching spoken and written English to college students in rural areas. Class sizes ranged from 30-40 students. Language capacity ranged from intermediate to proficient user. I had to devise all lesson plans, exams and activities with minimal resources. Collaborated with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary projects and activities to enrich the student learning experiences.
Teaching a wide spectrum of students using the Berlitz approach to language learning, with an emphasis upon developing spoken English. Class sizes could range between 1-10 students, from a variety of different backgrounds. Language capacity ranged from complete beginners to proficient users.
