Built a hybrid advanced manufacturing system based off of the E3D ToolChanger system. The system integrates traditional CNC subtractive manufacturing processes into an FFF 3D printer.
Developed a python script to parse Additive process GCODE with CNC GCODE, to allow for layer-by-layer CNC processing, combining the flexibility of Additive manufacturing with the mechanical precision of CNC machining.
Used the Universal Post Generator (UPG) to develop a Post Processor for SolidWorks CAM that facilitated GCODE integration.
Applied Design of Experiment (DOE) techniques to establish systematic and robust testing to investigate and identify optimal process parameters for in-situ CNC machining of 3D printed parts of various material compositions.
