Summary

I am a skilled boat builder trained in a college by a lecturer who is highly experienced and passionate about traditional boat building. In my apprenticeship most of my training and experience was through an internationally recognized company (Sunseeker) learning every individual stage to build a GRP yacht from hull lamination, first stage floors and bulkhead to furniture making all the way through to final fit out, I am a highly driven worker. As seen in my experiences I have always kept busy and strive to always improving my abilities to try to be one of the best at what I do.

I Utilize effective team leadership to ensure project timelines and quality standards are met. Track record of precise execution in complex construction tasks and efficient problem-solving.

  • I have been responsible from working on small repairs all the way to laying 100m2 of a new teak decks and ripping out and fitting new cabins
  • Leading big teams and keeping up motivation and spirit whilst taking on the responsibility of quick decision making and problem solving
  • The challenges I have faced here have really tested my innovative to resource plans and solutions to quickly and efficiently finish projects to a high standard

  • I was responsible for fitting out multiple cabins and exterior substructure works on a 48 ft and 52 ft yacht line production
  • My duties consisted of fibreglass lamination, fitting of pre-assembled furniture and upholstered panels, cutting in lacquered timber, fitted hatches, portholes/ portlights and gained more experience in boat moves
  • Demonstrated versatility in carpentry techniques, working proficiently with both hand tools and power tools to achieve fine high end results.

  • At Sunseeker I starting my career as an apprentice specialised in carpentry and composites on different sized yachts ranging from 55 - 116 ft
  • I worked on every stage of the boatbuilding process from start to finish
  • My job role included observing and making fiber glass hull's, painting, window sealing, teak decking, the assemble of hatches doors and moulded furniture
  • The last 2 years consisted of fitted cabins, galleys and heads, as well as fitting the decks and restoring lacquer
  • At the technology centre I built various pieces of furniture with different methods, finishing them off with the required upholstery
  • All of my work had to be done with 100% accuracy using custom specification and scaled plans in order to meet the standards and requirements of the customers
