With almost 8 years of experience in humanitarian work and psychosocial projects, she has worked on initiatives in Barcelona and supported the Psychosocial Support Unit of MSF Barcelona. In 2020, she expanded her expertise by working as a psychotherapist in the Trauma Project of the Free Yezidi Foundation in Iraq-Kurdistan, focusing on the Yezidi community in Khanke Camp, Duhok. During this time, she's trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to enhance the support of individuals with PTSD and complex PTSD. In 2021, she began a remote work project with HIAS Aruba, providing mental health and psychosocial support to migrants, asylum seekers and refugees registered with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in more than 10 countries and territories in the Caribbean. Her areas of interest include trauma, anxiety, stress management, grieving, self-care, social integration, the migration process and health promotion.
