Volunteer Work

Music Tutor - Baleares International College

Sep 2020 - Jun 2021

Having taught afternoon classes for GCSE basic music theory to support students who were finding the course content more challenging, I developed time management and organization skills by creating and conducting effective lessons including relevant course content. I ensured that each session included engaging activities for students to work collaboratively and provided individual tasks to enhance and solidify students' knowledge and understanding.

Teaching Assistant - Baleares International College

Sep 2021 - Jun 2022

Working alongside the drama teacher, I developed afternoon workshops for students aged 10-13 including the theory and practical of theatre. This role helped me develop time management and organization skills; balancing both my A-Levels and ‘part-time work’. On occasions when the drama teacher was either ill or in a meeting, I was able to enhance my leadership skills by running the sessions independently. I effectively communicated and collaborated with the children and showed compassion and respect, presenting myself as kind and approachable, which was highlighted by many students feeling comfortable asking me questions and raising any concerns they had.

Short Breaks Volunteer - Caudwell Children

Feb 2024 - Jun 2024

Having volunteered on the Short Breaks Team I have worked with young people with a range of neurological challenges including Autism, ADHD, Williams syndrome, Anxiety… supporting these young people to achieve their full potential has been incredibly rewarding as well as allowing me to expand my knowledge on neurodiversity and develop my skills in safeguarding, patience, communication, adaptability, critical thinking, active listening, collaboration, time management, empathy…

Student Voice Representative - Keele University

Sep 2023 - Jun 2024

Working with the academic team through creating surveys and attending regular SSVC (Student Staff Voice Committee) meetings I effectively represented students' voices in order to continuously improve and make a positive difference to the overall student experience at university, ensuring the highest level of educational and personal needs were met. Throughout this role I have been able to gain some valuable skills including; Leadership & Negotiation Skills, Effective Communication, Collaborative Problem-Solving, Advocacy, and Lobbying for positive change.
