Volunteering & Charitable Work:
· I was an academic & peer mentor and ran a Computer Science support club for GCSE students at The King’s School, Gloucester.
· I also enjoy giving back to the community and people in need by raising money for charity. I raised money through my school president role. I have also worked with the local fire service raising money for The Firefighter’s Charity and their selected charities. This involved setting up a website, a payment system & a tracking system for the yearly Christmas Santa Sleigh fundraising event. This entailed working with the firefighters for 4 evenings, walking round the streets of local towns & villages with a towed sleigh collecting money, I was also responsible for live Facebook and Instagram updates during the evenings.
Gliding:
· I have over 400 launches in gliders as well as 120 hours of flight time- 45 of which PIC.
· Cotswold Gliding Club Junior Member- previously a Cadet.
· I am also responsible for the maintenance plans and serviceability of a club glider. I periodically do a thorough inspection of the airframe to ensure that there are no major or minor defects, liaising with Inspectors.
· Through my previous role as Deputy Winchmaster I completely overhauled the training program for new Winch Drivers, which was inconsistent across instructors. During my tenure the number of Winch Drivers increased considerably, with launches getting much more consistent and better quality. To help enable this I developed an application to record training, and winch maintenance.
Other Interests:
· Snow and water skiing
· Enjoy water sports: Skiing, wake surfing, and more!
