As a steamfitter, my primary responsibility is to install, maintain, and repair piping systems that are used to transport steam, water, and other gases. This includes:

• Reading and interpreting blueprints to determine the layout of systems and ensure proper installation.
• Cutting, threading, and assembling pipes according to specifications, and making sure they are securely installed and aligned.
• Using welding, brazing, and soldering techniques to join pipes, when necessary, and ensuring proper seal and functionality.
• Inspecting and testing systems to ensure they are running efficiently and safely, including conducting pressure tests and diagnosing any issues like leaks or blockages.
• Maintaining safety and compliance with all relevant building codes and safety standards, ensuring that all installations and repairs are performed in a safe, secure manner.
• Collaborating with other trades like plumbers, electricians, and welders, to ensure that the piping systems integrate correctly with other systems in the building or plant.
