In higher education I completed a B-Tec National Diploma in ‘outdoor leisure management’ training to teach the basics in climbing, canoeing, sailing and mountain craft but because of my love for food and drink I have worked in the hospitality industry throughout most of my professional career. I started in London (where I am originally from) working in gastro pubs for Fullers Brewery as a bar tender and over time was promoted to general manager. I went on to manage several bar restaurant businesses across the capital including The White Horse pub Ritchmond, The Crown pub Islington, The Sun & Thirteen Cantons SoHo and Home Lounge Bar Restaurant Shorditch before I left London in 1999 to travel around the world. I now live in Ibiza Spain with my 17 year old son who was born in Ibiza. I have lived and worked in Ibiza for the past 24 years first managing two bar restaurants The Manumission Dinner and The Mao Rooms by China White, later opening my own business ‘Aura Ibiza’ as Managing Director in 2005. Over the following 8 years Aura Ibiza grew into a 200 cover garden restaurant with a 300 capacity bar/club attached. I employed up to 30 members of staff and the business had a turnover of over a million euros during the five month summer season. In 2013 my business partner/investor and I successfully sold the business. Since then I have been working freelance managing corporate events for an events company Ten80 Events based in Chamonix France managing corporate events across the Alps and in IBIZA. I also work as a freelance day charter captain with extensive local waters knowledge around IBIZA and Formentera. I also promoted a club night using the Aura Ibiza brand summer season 2023 at Akasha Las Dalias.
