I've had a varied career.

I started my working career when I left school , with a job in a laboratory for a company that made industrial greases, as part of my job I went to university to study science and mathematics.

Later I changed my job and went to work for a company Chloride batteries that made batteries for the car industry Fords of Dagenham, emergency batteries for hospitals and schools, and the aircraft industry. I was with that company for 18 years and was departmental manager when I left to buy my own retail business.

After eight years with my own business, I decided to move from the retail side to the wholesale side of retailing.

Then for the next 20 years or more I worked for a wholesale company servicing many large retail outlets,where I finally achieved Sales Manager .

During my working career most of my leisure time was taken up with football has my son loved playing football . Along with a friend we started a junior football club in Salford Manchester in 1980 and was with that club until 2009 when I hung up my boots. During that time I was secretary ,treasurer, and ended being Club Chairman. During my footballing years I started and run two Football Leagues.

I also was involved with the local council on many committees, residents committees and also the local housing association. Plus I was involved on many Manchester County Football Association committees .

I was in retail for many years and joining Akira gave me a new taste for retail. I think that my retail experience along with my experience of running Football Clubs and leagues and also my local Council experiences will help me bring some new ideas that might help Akira to become

a more professional company.
