Key Responsibilities & Accomplishments

  • Created strategy for and led organizational change management efforts for healthcare and IT initiatives including system installations, mergers and acquisitions, joint operating agreements, new business ventures, customer service delivery models, process improvement initiatives and organizational restructures. Scope included change readiness assessments, leadership alignment development, workflow impact analysis and optimization, stakeholder engagement, job impact and employee retention mitigation, training planning including needs and competency assessments, communication strategy creation and implementation, and adoption optimization with performance management metrics.
  • Collaborated with executive team members to define project scope, objectives, and expectations. Developed project schedules, detailed cutover and activation plans, responsible for project communication including project meetings, progress updates to stakeholders leveraging Microsoft tools, ClickUp and SharePoint. Prioritized and managed competing tasks to maintain timeline and meet key milestone dates. Identified and escalated risks with mitigation recommendations. Oversaw vendor relations.
  • Held various nurse roles including bedside care nurse, adjunct instructor, physician office nurse, home health care nurse, committee member, and informatics positions. Although varied, common to each was a focus on identifying and implementing improvements to enhance patient care & safety based on best practice recommendations and support the business vision. Led communication efforts, mentored team members, and collaborated with medical providers and hospital staff along with facility and community leadership, promoting employee satisfaction and team building and gaining efficiencies through LEAN strategies in operations. Opportunities included applying clinical expertise and knowledge of workflow impacts to evaluate new technology such as new equipment, or software and contributing to organizational process improvement and nursing excellence with shared governance initiatives with the creation of project presentations to illustrate the 'Why'. Led team managing electronic medical record, performing build updates, testing upgrades, creating instructional material and delivering training leveraging a variety of delivery methods along with managing all phases of projects including system integrations.

  • Big Bend Hospice, 2022 - 2024. Recommended change initiatives and communication strategies for planned organizational changes. Part of a team designing and proposing new business concept.
  • AdventHealth, 2011 – 2021. Advised and supported enterprise leaders to achieve organizational strategic goals on vision roadmap. Worked collaboratively with vendor to re-coup over $60,000 of inappropriate charges.
  • Tallahassee Memorial Regional Medical Center, Tallahassee, Florida, 2003 – 2007. Committee leader focused on improving nursing care and patient safety.
  • Florida Nurses Association, 1997 – 1998. State Council Member - Worked on numerous initiatives including with Imogene King to develop recommendations for standardized nursing language.
