  • Despite it is not technically considered a job or a study, it was my occupation until September 2021. In Spain, if an want to become a judge or a prosecutor, he/she will have to pass very demanding competition, consisting in three phases: one test, and two oral exams before Spanish Supreme Court. Preparation takes many years (non less than 4 years average or more) of study. During those years, competitor has to dedicate between 8-12 hours to study Spanish Laws (Constitution, Civil Code, Penal Code, Procedural Law among many others) every day. This demands from competitor great capacity of personal sacrifice, very strict discipline of work, patience, exceptional emotional intelligence and actual and literal knowledge of Spanish Laws mentioned before and absolute dedication to study as well.
  • However, most of applicants cannot resist this severe process and they finally give up on competition for many reasons, despite being great jurists and even having passed all phases.

Personnel Selection Commision of the Spanish Ministry of Justice

As Trainee Worker in Personnel Selection Commission, I made reports for Ministry about applicants to Public Competition to Justice Administration Personnel, answering complaining forms sent by some of them according to procedure established on Ministry of Justice's decrees. I also contacted with Justice Administration of Autonomous Communities to know how many Justice officials (managers, processors and auxiliary personnel) where needed in each court of their territories. Later we distributed available positions among Communities, and informing them to get know if they were agree with Commission's distribution and trying to solve possible disagreements. Once there was an agreement, I wrote a report to my manager to inform Minister before announcing next year Competition's rules and the available positions for each Community.
