I have patience and empathy. These virtues make others feel comfortable with me and make learning easier. In my experience, those teachers who leave the greatest positive impact are those who are respectful, and who create a calm and open relationship. Spanish is my mother tongue and I am bilingual having studied the English language in international schools for 12 years. I lived in Asia for 12 years which gave me the opportunity to get to know different nationalities and cultures. I think this would give me the flexibility to work and teach people from different countries and cultures. My parents and teachers have shared feedback on my interpersonal communication skills which they find clear and assertive. I am geographically mobile and interested in exploring other regions, which will give me the flexibility to apply what I have learned in this course in many different settings. I also have work discipline, something I have learned through my studies as well as other activities such as martial arts (I am a first degree black belt in Taekwondo).
Operations Team Member: I helped an initiative called Caferuna of the Meraki Giving non-profit startup by being part of the operations team on which I helped to grind Peruvian coffee beans, as well as packaging the coffee, and decorating the packages with the stickers. I also helped to raise funds which would later be sent to a community in Peru by selling numerous batches of coffee on many different occasions. I was also the translator and could translate the Spanish messages sent by the community as well as send them our own messages in the language.
Summer Camp Counselor Assistant: Assistance of children throughout activities carried out on a boat and in a foundry workshop.
