- The greatest challenge was maintaining all onboard systems in house during extensive remote cruising through the Pacific while at the same time setting up and implementing the IDEA PMS and Reila eSMS.

- A personal achievement was obtaining Y3 CoC, without needing to take time off from the vessel.

- The greatest challenge was the replacement of the Main Engine after a catastrophic failure while enroute to the Caribbean via the Canary Islands
- A new C18 Caterpillar was disassembled then lowered through a very small deck hatch into the Engine Room, moved into position and then reassembled
- The entire project was completed in Las Palmas, Gran Canaria in 6 months to enable the vessel to return to the Balearic Islands for the summer season
- A personal achievement was being able to clear and maintain an Alarm Free AMS on a sophisticated and complex yacht.

- Highlights include attending the MTU Engine Manufacturers Course in Friedrichshafen, Germany and passing my Y4 Oral Exam, obtaining my first STCW CoC.

- The repair allowed us to continue sailing to the Caribbean where the eventual new Rudder replacement took place in Trinidad several months later during Carnival
- The position allowed me to fine tune my sailing skills, broaden my knowledge of hydraulics and PLC´s and organizational skills
- A personal highlight was learning to dive in Tahiti, French Polynesia and obtaining my Padi Open Water
- Then diving with Hammerhead Sharks in the Galapagos Islands.
