"A Critical Evaluation of Leadership Coaching and Mentoring Practices Based on Moral Principles in Higher Education"
Leadership represents a wide spectrum of theories and models that span from autocratic or directive models ,withing situational, and transactional approaches (Bass and Steidlmeier, 1999),(Jim Allen McCleskey, 2014), to a more Laissez-faire spectrum forms of theories leadership involving such as servant leadership(Greenleaf, 2002),(Blanchard and Hodges, 2003), and collaborative leadership (Chrislip and Larson, 1994), (Hendrikz and Engelbrecht, 2019), and distributed leadership, with others such as participative or democratic in between (Bolden, 2011). However, for the purpose of this independent study (IS) I the author will will evaluate theories of leadership more associated with the Confucius frame work proposition (Confucius., 2016) underpinned by a servant leadership(Greenleaf, 2002),(Blanchard and Hodges, 2003) and moral principle centred (Covey, 1999) approach in leadership coaching (Covey, 1999) in within the context of higher education leadership, in evaluating the underline motivations and influence of moral principle centred behaviour in bring about where it can be seen as a vehicle to enhance self-realisation, self-affirmation(Steele, 1988),(Easterbrook, Harris and Sherman, 2021), (Yeager et al., 2014) and personal development, hence unleashing students , educators and the organisational sector at large effectiveness.
