I am a reflective practitioner who takes seriously the various tasks involved with Sexual and Reproductive Health. I have and continue to ensure that my Practice follows Guidance, Regulations and Standards in line with working with Young People, Adults and Families. This includes WHO Guidelines , British Association for Sexual Health and HIV , NICE Guidelines, NAM Aidsmap and Society for Sexual Health Advisors codes of practice. In line with these values , I ensure that I am able to update my knowledge by committing to continuos Professional Development and ensuring that my base-line is certifying that all individual's are Safeguarded by adhering to Policies and procedures.
I have strong knowledge and commitment to public health principles of health promotion for young people and adults which underpin my practice. This include risks assessment and risk reduction, developing personal skills by delivering health education and health information, creating supportive environments by giving opportunity to discuss and explore health issues, straightening community action through multi-professional and partnership working.
I work with individuals establishing rapport and good working relationships through basic Counselling Skills such as reflective listening, warm body language, helping clients feel welcomed and valued and ensuring collaboration at all stages . I promote equality as much as possible by encouraging clients to be aware of their choices and rights for a fair and owned service. I practice this by commencing work with individuals with clear professional boundaries , preparing clients for future interventions and confirming that they have accurate information about the service they are receiving.

- Working autonomously and with empathy as a part of a risk reduction service ( assisted venipuncture room) designed for people who consume psychoactive substancies.
- Assist with venipuncture , delivering injecting parafernalia , clean injecting materials for safe and hygienic injecting.
- Basic care of abscesses and superficial wounds .

I have developed effective communication skills through clinical, one to one and outreach work with vulnerable populations and target groups delivering information, advice and support on Sexual Health topic and Sexual relationships. I have delivered Sexual health promotion interventions and campaigns for gay men and those who do not identify as gay, Black and Minority Ethnic communities, Commercial Sex Workers, Substance misuse populations and the Homeless .
I can communicate effectively and establish good working relationships with other hospital departments, statuary services and external agencies. I have worked closely with Sexual Assault Referral Centres , Social Services and the Police and managed highly charged and emotive situations such as disclosure of HIV status, historic and acute presentations where Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault were disclosed.

Throughout my Professional Practice, I ensure that I work within my own values, principles and ethics. This is shown through complying with Policies, Procedures and Guidance within work settings. Throughout my Health Care career, I have started, facilitated and led projects. I have been Supervising Students, facilitating the development of new staff through mentoring and shadowing and training other professionals. I have worked within organisations with various computer systems. I am confident in this and also using Microsoft packages such as Excel and Power point. I am able to design presentations and feel confident in organising and structuring these in a way to meet different needs. I have also participated in specialist teaching to non-Genitourinary health professionals and presented an abstract on annual National British Association of Sexual Health and HIV Conference, which was held in Belfast in 2017. I was a co-author of a clinical abstract "A year of proctitis: Aetiology and Management in an Urban GUM Clinic".
