Alvaro Barnuevo

Palma De Mallorca

Summary

My name is Alvaro, and I am from Spain. My passion for the sea came early, rooted in my family’s tradition of sail racing on classic boats. From a young age, I was introduced to this tradition through classic racing yachts and dinghy sailing, which sparked a lifelong passion. My goal has always been to learn and race as much as possible. To deepen my knowledge, I pursued a degree in Naval Architecture in 2017, learning the theory and technical aspects of sailing boats. I graduated in May 2020 with Upper Second-Class Honours (2:1). Alongside my degree, I have accumulated over 9 years of experience in classic boat racing and more than 6 years racing composite boats professionally. I’ve participated in both inshore and offshore races, as well as vessel deliveries.
